Welcome to the Indie Rock Free Throw Shooting Contest page.  Each week we will put up head to head two recent Indie Rock album releases.  Each track on each album represents a free throw and will be awarded either a "Swoosh" or a "Clank."  After going through the entire album a percentage will be generated based on the number of "Swoosh" tracks an album has.  For Example if an Album with 10 tracks has 8 "Swoosh" tracks then it will achieve a score of 80%.

Synopsis:  This is a solid effort from this duo from the Pacific Northwest.  They would win most of these contests if they weren't going up against Vampire Weekend.  The instrumentation throughout is catchy and mesmerizing. Lyrically melancholy at times, almost every track finds the right balance and often lifts you as they move along.  Catch one of their live sets at SXSW next week as Woxy.com will air it live on Saturday, March 15th.

Synopsis: This energetic and lyrically witty album will captivate you at some point and you will catch yourself singing along without even realizing it.  The graduates of Columbia University in New York say their goal was to take traditional rock intruments and make them sound anything but rock like.  What ever you call their new sound it works and they have picked up all the buzz to support that.  Catch them on Saturday Night Live this Saturday, March 8th.
