Yes, Joey Votto hit 3 out yesterday but that couldn't over shadow the tragedy that befell
Great American Ballpark when Mr. Redlegs got decapitated. Watch at your own risk, it's just horrific...
Update: The original video was taken down because Major League Baseball copyright rules, (Lame), but Joe Sports Fan made a remix!
Go here it listen to the half-the-title track from Coldplay's forthcoming June album, even the haters will find it hard to not like this...
"So, one point for self-awareness, and another for turning out a fresh sounding (if U2-y in spirit) track. A Coldplay song with a string section and church bells that manages not to sound pretentious? No small feat, you guys. We credit fatherhood. Or Eno. Either way, the half-the-title track to the forthcoming Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends will probably inspire fewer bilious comments than last time -- and definitely fewer comparisons to Radiohead."-Stereogum
Lightspeed Champion's video for "Tell Me What it's Worth" is this week's
Cincycoolness.com Cool Music Video of the Week!
Lightspeed Champion is the musical inspiration of Devonte Hynes. Though the band originates from the UK their latest release, "Falling Off the Lavender Bridge" was recorded in Omaha and featured many members of the Saddle Creek family who play with the likes of Bright Eyes and The Faint. "Tell Me What it's Worth" is the second single off of the new album and the video and song are good stuff. Check it out as it is our COOL MUSIC VIDEO of the WEEK!
*Disclaimer-We try to post a wake up video every day during the week, however much more thought and discern goes into selecting the Cool Music Video of the Week. So if you only check out one video a week on this site, you really should check out this page!

Have you taken a peek at the Cool Corner recently?
CINCY TOOL OF THE WEEK!
Reginald Mullins Jr.
"He is accused of inappropriately touching the same woman on April 2 and 21, records state. On March 15, he also showed that woman a picture of his penis on a computer in the college library without her consent, Cincinnati State police wrote in a court record."--go here for full story.
I read all the time about losers like this that are stalking females in libraries and giving out pictures of their thing... Does anyone know, has this ever worked for anyone out there? Or are there any females that have had this happen to them and been like, "Oh yeah, I want you now!"
I any event, Reginald, you are Cincycoolness.com's "You're So Not Cool, TOOL of the Week!"

Over at Joel's Reds' Rant, common sense is the common theme.

The Burkett sisters, Terra and Mallory, rocked the Matt Pond PA show last week at the 20th Century theater. Matt Pond and Co. were planning to come back in a couple months but when they were here that got held up and robbed. Let's hope that didn't sour this emerging indie band from returning?
The good news is Kate is back with 2 new wine of the week selections, the bad news is I drank them both in the same night, and though they were wonderful, I was feeling it the next day... Let's stick to one a week Kate! :) Check out Kate's Cool Wine Pick's of the week!

Lars and the Real Girl (2007)
One of the best under the radar movies of 2007 is now out on DVD. It is worth checking out alone just for Ryan Gosling's performance!
MPAA RATING: PG-13 for some sex-related content
Starring Ryan Gosling, Patricia Clarkson, Emily Mortimer, Kelli Garner, and Paul Schneider
Lars and the Real Girl is the touching, amusing, and humorous story about a man whose emotional baggage has kept him from fully embracing life. After years of what is almost solitude, Lars invites Bianca, a friend he met on the Internet, to visit him. He introduces Bianca to his brother Gus and his wife Karen and they are stunned. They don't know what to say to Lars or Bianca--because she is a life-size doll, not a real person, and he is treating her as if she is alive. They consult the family doctor, who explains that this is a delusion he's created--for what reason, she doesn't yet know, but they should all go along with it. What follows is an emotional journey for Lars and the people around him. (Kimmel International)

I am jealous because for the second year in a row I wasn't able to work out a trip to see this festival. Thanks to the ATT Blue Room,
I can check out some live performances as they happen. Jack Johnson, Tegan and Sara, Les Savy Fav, Hot Chip, Portishead, VHS and Beta, Flogging Molly, Brett Dennan, and Stars are just some of the many live sets that will be webcast live. Check some out!

Billy Joel's roadie, "Chainsaw" performs AC/DC's "Highway To Hell" during the Billy Joel show in Columbus.
Hear more about the show and other fun stuff at The Cool Corner!
What are they saying about the Reds elsewhere...
"Most of what makes Cincinnati an interesting team is its young talent, players such as pitcher Johnny Cueto, first baseman Joey Votto, and outfielder Jay Bruce, the best hitting prospect in the sport, with whom Krivsky had little to do. But the reason it’s a functional and well-rounded baseball team is the eye Krivksy’s had for second-line talent. The Mets would be well served to hire the man, and listen to him." (Read the excellent full article by Tim Marchman here.)
