Ray Lamontagne>>Shelter (Live From BBC4 Sessions)

This decade will be known as the singer/songwriter decade and quite possibily the best American singer/songwriter of them all these days is Ray Lamontagne.  There is always a little burst of excitment when you find out a concert you really want to see is coming to town and that happen to me today when I opened an email that announced Ray Lamontagne is coming to the Taft Theater on Saturday, April 18th and tickets go on sale tomorrow!  That will be a cool night in Cincinnati.  For now enjoy this clip of my personal favorite song by Mr. Lamontagne recorded at a recent BBC4 session during his European tour.

Rent: "Filmed Live On Broadway"

Yesterday was the release of Rent: "Live On Broadway" which was filmed during the final performance of the show's long run at the Nederlander Theater in New York City.  This is definately one the the best broadway shows of a generation.  Check out this clip of "Out Tonight/Another Day" from the DVD.  One of the many highlights from the first Act.

The Bird and The Bee>>My Love(Live on The Tonight Show)

Last week I caught The Bird and The Bee play on Jay Leno and was quite intrigued.  Last night I caught them again with Jimmy Kimmel and was further impressed.  The Bird and The Bee are hard to define.  They are a Los Angeles musical duo made up of Greg Kurstin and Inara George who formed in 2006.  Their unique indie pop/rock sound has been featured on Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job and in films like Forgetting Sarah Marshall.  They just released their second full length album called, Ray Guns Are Not Just The Future and it is receiving very positive reviews.

Wanna see a kid stoned out of his head after a visit to the Dentist!!??  Yeah you do!  Hilarious!

WE HAVE A "You're So Not Cool!" TOOL OF THE WEEK!

Introducing Dayton, OH woman Teresa Lynn Brock who was busted in a prostitution sting for offering her 19 year old daughter for sexual favors.  Not surprisingly she was also found to have heroin and priors for prostitution.  Here is the full story...

I admit I am already kinda sick of that Reds ad running with that female vocal in the background that is hard to understand but it turns out it is from a song called 'Paint The Town Red' by an up and coming New York rock band called The Hotcakes.  After watching the song performed live, it is much more tolerable, which is good because apparently the Reds marketing machine will be using it often this year.

Here is a link to how this all came to be...and here is the live clip of the song...

Heartless Bastards>>The Mountain (Live)

Erika Wennerstrom started playing gigs in her hometown of Dayton, OH and formed the Heartless Bastards in 2003.  Heartless Bastards played their first ever live gig at The Comet in Northside.  Today marks the release of the bands third full length release, The Mountain and this clip is a great live version of the title track.  Erika remains the only surviving member of the original lineup and she has spent most of her time trying to somewhat revamp the bands sound while living in Austin, Texas.
