BENGALS DEFENSIVE HOLES SEEN FROM GOOGLE EARTH!

From our friends at DERF, go here for full story.

Let's Breakdown FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS!

If you still haven't gotten into the best show on television, you are simply missing out. Last night, the second episode of the new season aired, and here's the breakdown:

*We've gotta root for Matt and Julie.

*McCain may want to seek campaign advice from Tyra.

*I'm never, ever ordering squab!

*The "Money-for-Academics vs. Money-for-Jumbo-Tron" story line

is both interesting and relevant!

*Where is Jason Street?

*I'm tired of Smash, again... Move on already.

*Landry is one of the more compelling characters,

and he needs to be featured more.

Cool Site of the Week!

Meetways.com is a great website that allows you to enter your address and the address of the person you want to meet up with, and it gives you a location in the middle that meets at your point of interest. For example, if I want to meet up with my friend Joe, who lives in Dayton, for Pizza, our middle location would be Hunters Pizzeria or Pizza Hut in Franklin. It's pretty cool and could prove pretty useful, too... Try it out!

FATTIES REJOICE!

Willie Anderson may now be in Baltimore playing for the Ravens, but he still came through on his promise to bring a Fatburger to Cincinnati!  The famous burger chain, which is well-established on the west coast primarily in California, has been making its way East. The Oakley location officially opened this week and the coolest sports talk figure in the city was all about it!

Kate and the gang at Dilly Cafe were Zinful last week!

Here is today's music video COOL CLIP....

Missy Higgins-

'More Than This' (Live from Columbus)

Sorry we missed a day, but we went to Columbus to see the Sold Out Joshua Radin/Missy Higgins show at The Basement in Columbus. After a chill set by Joshua Radin, Missy Higgins' set started a little late because Missy and her band were back at the hotel watching the Presidential debate. Missy showed up ahead of the band and started the show acoustic. When her band arrived they just got on stage and joined in. This was the song the band arrived for and it's a new one. At the conclusion, Missy announced that this was the first time she ever performed it live so there were mistakes, but it still sounded pretty cool anyway. Check it out for yourself!

Are you into FREE THINGS TO DO!!??

With the economy tanking, next Thursday, October 16th couldn't come fast enough. For starters, it's Free Night of Theater 2008. Theaters which feature stage productions are giving free tickets in over 100 cities across the country, click here for details.

On Fountain Square, The Breeders and The National will be performing a free show as part of  Vote Early, Rock Late. The event runs from 5-9pm. There will be free charter buses running to the board of elections, so if you are a registered Hamilton County voter, you can vote early! Though the idea is to support Obama, there are no rules that say you still can't go, vote for McCain, and enjoy the great music anyway... As far as I'm concerned, the most important thing is to exercise your right to vote, regardless of where you stand politically.

Here is today's music video COOL CLIP....

The Kooks-

'Do You Wanna' (Live on Jools Holland)

The Kooks tour supporting their second album, Konk, hits town this Sunday night at Bogarts. The boys who were all students at Brighton Institute of Modern Music have achieved great acclaim in Europe and are starting to develop a great reputation here, too, with their unique Brit\-Pop sound and energy. Along with The Whigs, it is sure to be a great night of music, despite the venue.

Did you catch the hilarious parody of the VP debate that opened Saturday Night Live last weekend? Tina Fey as Sarah Palin is classic! Check it out!

KATE WENT TO VEGAS!

Here is today's music video COOL CLIP....

Joshua Radin-

'Today'

Joshua Radin is an amazing talent, and his highly anticipated, second full-length album, titled Simple Times, was released last week. The Ohio born singer/songwriter will be at The Basement in Columbus tomorrow night, and we will be there! Radin graduated from Northwestern where he became close to Zach Braff of Scrubs and several of his songs have been used on that show. Joshua's songs have turned up on several other television shows, as well as some film soundtracks including The Last Kiss. Here we see him perform on Ellen... He actually performed at her marriage to actress Portia de Rossi earlier this year.

You want to watch every episode of the best show on Television?!?!?! Just go here!

Entertainment Weekly lists '30 unforgettable nude scences.'

Below are two of my all time favorites... Did yours make the list!?

Here is today's music video COOL CLIP...

Ben Folds-

'You Don't Know Me' (feat. Regina Spektor)

Ben Folds has a new album titled Way to Normal, and this is the track getting all the attention so far. The addtion of Regina Spektor definitely helps Ben Folds, and the video, directed by the always warped-in-a-good-way Tim and Eric, is pretty funny. You can also catch Ben tomorrow night in Louisville where he plays a show with the Louisville Orchestra, which will no doubt sound great!

A BENGALS FAN IS SELLING HIS SUPPORT ON EBAY!

SEABIRD TO BE FEATURED ON ABC TONIGHT!

Local Indie band Seabird's hit single 'Rescue' will be featured tonight on ABC's Pushing Daisies.  Check out the video here:

TURN THE LIGHTS ON!

THE BEST SHOW ON TELEVISION IS BACK TONIGHT!

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS

Hopefully, you are a smart individual and have DirecTV because tonight is the Premiere Episode of Season 3 of the best show on television today: Friday Night Lights! Don't take my word for it, see it for yourself. This show was so good that it had to be saved. The network big wigs actually showed bi-partisanship and worked out a deal to get this show back to its fans. (Now, if only congress can do the same thing to bail out our economy...)  Another fantastic aspect of the show is that it's shot in Austin, Texas.  Check out this video clip in which Jesse Plemons, who plays Landry Clarke, tours the Gibson Guitar store in downtown Austin!

Speaking of Austin, they held the Austin City Limits festival last weekend and Coolness favorite Vampire Weekend made a believer out of one of our cool people, Kevin Hurley...

Kevin just got back from the ACL fest, now hopefully we'll hear about his tales of Hollywood!?  In the meantime, here is a clip of Vampire Weekend rockin' out Friday in Austin with 'One!'

Here is today's music video COOL CLIP....

Missy Higgins-

'Where I Stood' (Official Video)

Austrailian superstar Missy Higgins premeried her new video for 'Where I Stood', and of course we love it! Missy has been touring America all summer, which included a stop earlier this year in Covington. Her tour dates have included double billings with the likes of Ben Folds and The Indigo Girls. If you haven't yet discovered this amazing talent, who is not just another American Idol type, start now!

Hilarious video making fun of the financial crisis!

THE JOB

Here is today's music video COOL CLIP...

The Whigs-

Live on Late NIght

On October 12th, The Kooks are coming to Bogart's and the opening band may be just as good, if not better.  The Whigs, one of the first bands ever to be featured by this site, were one of the highlights of Lollapalooza 2008, and just flat. out. rock. In this video, the band from Athens, Georgia, jam out their hit 'Right Hand On My Heart' for David Letterman on the Late Show.

THANK GOODNESS FOR WINE!

Kate's Wine Pick got me through a weekend to forget in sports.

*The Mets blow it on the final day of the season for the second year in a row.

*Everton lose 2-0 to cross-town rival Liverpool at home.

*The Bengals (see below)

*The Hold Steady Hoodrats got blown up in fantasy football thanks to Brett Farve.

 No Carson, No Chance.

This comes From Lance McAlister's blog and pretty well says it all.

Opening observations
*Thank heavens for the NFL Ticket, fantasy football, gambling and college football
*Hey, at least I made money watching the game....Browns +3
*Was tailgating enough to make that fun?
*Final score: 65,541 fans
*How many season ticket holders would be in favor of a bailout?
*Hey, it's just preseason
*Marvin's record drops to 42-43 in the regular season
*Line of the day: "God have mercy on Bengals fans for the remainder of the year"-'Brad Johansen
*
Top 100 college seniors
*Has there ever been an NFL coach to mishandle timeouts, the clock and challenges like Marvin Lewis?
*For those that wanted Fitzpatrick...you got him......now what?
*No timeouts with 13:00 left in the game? Bet there was a bad connection with the headsets again.
*Under Marvin, the Bengals were 34-5 when leading after three quarters going into Sunday
*Browns '08 7th round pick (#231) Alex Hall blows by franchise tagged Stacey Andrews for a sack.
*Why did Carson practice and throw Wed and Thur with a sore elbow? Why not give those reps to Fitzpatrick and check on Carson Friday? And if Ryan and Jordan got hurt, Carson was going in? Hurt last Sunday, no MRI til Thursday?
*Carson's elbow? I'm thinking it's just a bone bruise
*What will the opening point spread be for Bengals vs Cowboys? I'll guess 17.5

Here is today's music video COOL CLIP...

Snow Patrol-

'Take Back The City'

The boys from Ireland are back with the first single off their forthcoming album due out at the end of October. Let's hope Snow Patrol come to Cincinnati this time around, as they have never been here and they are fantastic live. This also could be the new theme song for Cincinnati?!

Are we ready for a new Partridge Family?  I say YES!!!!

MidPoint Music Fest kicks off this evening (WITH SEABIRD!!!) and we'd like to share another group we'll be checking out this weekend. A friend of a friend (Mr. Wade Baker) has been playing with the Jon Justice Band for quite some time now, and it's definitely a good thing. Jon and the boys will play Arnold's Bar & Grill Friday night at 11:30pm.

Catch their set... you'll thank us later.

P.S. That's Wade on the far right slayin' that bass!

Here is today's music video COOL CLIP...

The National-'Slow Show' -live at Lollapalooza

Just got back from NYC and while at the Virgin Megastore in Times Square, I spotted a rack of top CD's from 'New York' bands; on this shelf sat The National's Boxer.  So, I know they formed the band in Brooklyn, but to me they are from Cincinnati. They might be the best band ever with Cincinnati ties.  We just had to relive the last time we saw them live, which was earlier this summer at Lollapalooza, with one of the best in-crowd concert videos I've seen.  Watch it now or go here, click 'watch in high quality' and go full screen. You'll feel like you were there with us...(We were probably a few feet over to the right!)

As you can tell, they rocked!
